When it comes to travel, we believe women are interested in more than just fashion & style columns and reviews of ludicrously expensive resorts. We know that not every female is in search of the world’s perfect facial. And that women without trust funds travel too.

Galavanting is a distinct space that we hope will inspire, empower and connect women to the communities they visit. Travel is an opportunity to learn and grow. We tell women’s stories of discovery, self-discovery, and insider tips, as well as practical advice to keep travelers safe and culturally connected while out galavanting.

We’ve come a long way ladies,

::: Our Story

We thought our story might better be told as a limerick…
as most things are, of course.

On another dull day in D.C.,
Kim and Katy together decreed:
“You know what would be tight?”
“A girls’ travel website!”
And so Galavanting came to be.

Kim came from a pious communit(a)y
With a pastor shunned for being gay.
Katy lived in the burbs,
Feelin’ angsty and perturbed,
As feminists, we both got away.

Colorado natives who didn’t stay,
Having travel genes in our DNA,
Kim went to live overseas,
Katy got lots of degrees,
And we met on a bright summer day.

Empowering women our life goal,
We found our gig had no soul.
So we started to think,
And quick as a wink,
Found new directions in which we could roll.

Travel did wonders for opening our eyes
But it’s hard when you’re not one of the guys,
To stay safe, healthy and free,
And get involved in communities,
Women need more to take to the skies.

Galavanting connects women with each other,
Whether you’re a single girl or a mother,
We’ll help you get around,
Support women-owned business on the ground—
Leave the shallow travel mags for your brother.

We want all the ladies to know
That traveling will help you grow
We’ve come a long way
(Still without equal pay)
But there are many more places to go!
