Morgan Spurlock, of Super Size Me and 30 Days fame, aims to find out with his new project, No Ad - NY. The project is simple: taking the eyesore that is Times Square and removing its ads. Unfortunately, the project is relegated to just the internet for now but can you imagine how cool an advertising-free Times Square would be? Spurlock wants others (namely, Internet-using folks) in on the action. By visiting the site, one can tool around with the 360-degree video and digitally edit ads out of the frames.
Nothing is better than socking it to branding, advertisement and general noise than with democratic participation, no?
